The first game of the season is behind us and the Green Bay Packers have a share of the lead in the NFC North Division.

This was definitely a case of the good, the bad, and the ugly. But with a win under our belts it still feels really good for Green Bay Packer fans. Especially since... many of our question marks appeared to be answered.

Aaron Rodgers not only went a full four quarters without getting hurt, he did it in grand fashion. Rodgers completed 18 of 22 passes for 178 yards. Not a lights-out performance but very consistent. Any time Aaron completes 82% of his passes we won't be too concerned if they're all short.

Aaron also showed his ability to take the ball himself when receivers just aren't open. He rushed for 21 yards against the Vikings. Of course, he has his offensive line to thank for much of that yardage as they did a rather good job of keeping a tough Viking defense from getting to Mr. Rodgers.

The Packers offensive line deserves kudos for keeping the Vikings defense under control. However, the Vikings defense didn't look outstanding. Still the Packers kept last season's sack leader, Jared Allen, to zero sacks and zero tackles. That's good news.

Grant looked good at times. He gained 92 yards on the ground. Most of that came on one 57 yard sprint. However, he did take quite a beating at times and didn't look bothered by it. Every hit he takes now makes the fact that he missed the pre-season less and less important.

Adrian Peterson did have a 100 yard game. He just barely edged that mark logging 103 yards, but a big chunk of that yardage came on a single 34 yard rumble. Other than that Peterson wasn't really in the game after the first period.

Tavaris Jackson turned out the game we expected. He did complete some passes, including a key pass on fourth down for a touchdown. He also made some big running plays, but in the end he had very little impact on the game.

Despite the win, there was a lot of sloppy play. The Packers had 12 penalties that cost them 118 yards. Coach McCarthy will not stand for sloppy play like that. Penalties of that magnitude will lose us games even when we play well. Look for that to be cleaned up considerably next game.

Props to A-Rod for a great game. The defense played like they left off last year which was unexpected. Props to Nick Collins for being for than "assignment sure" a couple of big hits - great job! Linebacking corp may be as good as it gets in the league by the time all is said and done. Watch what happens when we play Detroit...Skadoosh! O-line much better than expected, much was made of Vikings missing starters...our line was much more disheveled than theirs and we played great (aside from the penalties).
